I finished my Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2004 and I ran acupuncture and herbal clinics in Rockdale, Carlton and Enmore, in Glebe in a couple of locations including most recently the Genki Centre. I treated hundreds of patients with a very high degree of clinical success and very much enjoyed the work.
Due to a series of extremely unfortunate family circumstances in 2010 and 2011, I was unable to continue running my business and treating patients to a standard that I was happy with, in addition to working full time like I had done for the previous 12 years. For better or worse, the lure of a guaranteed salary working IT jobs won out over being solely self-employed, and I took on a couple of rewarding and fun roles for what I expected would be maybe a year or two and in 2012, I closed down my clinic.
One thing leading to another (as it so often does) it was 2016 before I was ready to come back to my real work, my childhood dream of being an acupuncturist. Then I found out that due to legislative changes that occurred after I shut down my clinic, the process of re-opening my clinic would not be easy, nor simple, inexpensive, or quick. Eleven months of filling in paperwork for registration, insurance, association membership and fulfilling my obligations to the new legislative environment later, I am now ready to see patients once more.
I will be working with the exceptional Michelle Corban at her lovely clinic, Michelle Corban and Associates in Neutral Bay and I'm running an opening half price special for the next month or two while I complete the last of my legal requirements for registration as the newly-protected professional term, 'acupuncturist'.
If you have any questions, about acupuncture, moxibustion, my clinic or anything else, please feel free to contact me - all the details are back on the home page.
